Post Easter- 6 April 2010

Lily's first Easter was a success. Ryan came up and was able to spend the whole weekend, from late Thursday night until Monday evening. Lily and I enjoyed having him home, even for the short amount of time. Friday was spent getting my military ID, checking out the commissary and PX, and then hanging out with the little girl.
Saturday we dyed Easter eggs, and relaxed out in the sun. Sunday was a busy day, church in the morning, then to Matt's for an awkward hour, to visit Mommoms and see Brandi, and then off to Aunt Jo's. Lily had a great time with mommom and at Aunt Jo's, but i am so glad that we aren't obligated to see Matt anymore. For those of you that don't know, Matt is Lily's natural father. He just gave his consent for Ryan to adopt Lily, so now our family is whole. Monday, we relaxed  and went to the park. Everyone got a little sun. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend, Lily and I were sad to watch Ryan leave, but we are getting used to it, and i guess we better. Who knows when the army will take him away. WEll, i need to write a paper while the little girl is asleep. more later.

Day one. 1 April, 2010

Hello internet world. This is my very first blog. Way interesting, huh. There are so many reasons I want to keep a blog, even though I can't put any of them into words. Mostly, I think it will be nice to keep a running record of what goes on in my family's life and how I honestly feel. Today needs to be a good day. It's the Thursday before Easter, and my husband, Ryan, was supposed to come visit me today. But of course, the army had other plans. So, now I have an extra day to sit and wait. Ryan is stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. and in 2 short months Lily and I will be down there with him. It's awful being married and not living with him. I have been a single mother for 10 months now, and I use the terms single and mother rather loosely. I live with my parents, and my family helps out a lot, so don't feel too sorry for me. I am currently going to Harford Community College for Sociology-Social Work, and am no where close to having a degree. While I am in school, 2 days a week, Mondays Lily is with my grandmother, Granny, who spoils the crap out of her. And on Wednesdays, my mother Susan watches her. She doesn't spoil her so much. She just takes her on all of the errands. I think Lily enjoys it. On days that I dont have school Lily and I play inside, but as the weather is getting nicer, we are getting to go outside more often. Lily loves the outside. A lot. But this season it has been too wet and chilly to really enjoy the outdoors. But today it is beautiful, and we are going to run to the doctors to get some paper work, and then go outside.

Love ,
Mrs. Cawthon
